Lately, our clients have been surprised at the number of people involved in a real estate transaction. Therefore, I thought I’d give you a quick review of what to expect and who is going to be helping you.

1. Your agent. Your real estate agent is the quarterback of your real estate transaction who coordinates everything to make sure the deal comes together and closes.

2. Your transaction coordinator. Their job is to look at the details of the transaction and make sure everything is exactly the way it needs to be. They do a lot of the nitty gritty work, like scheduling.

3. Your inspector. This person’s job is to take a look at all the systems in the home and make sure they are in proper working order. If they aren’t in great condition, this will help you have leverage in negotiations.

4. Your escrow officer and title company. They handle the money, the title search, and the closing of the transaction. They make sure the house you are buying is legitimately owned by the seller, and they make sure your earnest money check gets to the seller at the end of the transaction.

5. Your lender and their team. These are the people you’re probably going to spend the most time with. Getting a loan is a lot more complicated than it used to be. There is a lot of information they will need from you. It will take them several weeks to get everything together. Stay patient and it will be worth it in the end when you get the keys to your new home.

As you can see, there are a lot of different people out there that help you get to the closing table aside from your agent. However, if you hire a great agent, everyone else will fall into place.

If you have any questions for me or you’re interested in selling your home, give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you.
